We are looking for an Environmental Operations Technician to join our client's team in the mining sector, supporting daily environmental activities and ensuring the effective implementation of environmental procedures at the mine site.

Responsibilities

• Support daily environmental operations and activities at the mine site.
• Monitor environmental conditions and ensure compliance with established procedures.
• Assist in the implementation of environmental management plans and operational controls.
• Conduct routine environmental inspections and identify potential environmental risks.
• Support waste management, recycling, and proper disposal activities.
• Collect environmental data and maintain accurate operational records.
• Report environmental incidents, non-compliance issues, and operational concerns to the supervisor.
• Assist with environmental monitoring, audits, and inspections.
• Promote environmental awareness and compliance with environmental procedures among employees and contractors.

Requirements

• Technical diploma in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in environmental operations, preferably in the mining sector.
• Basic knowledge of environmental management practices, waste management, and pollution prevention.
• Ability to conduct environmental inspections and maintain accurate records.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to identify and report environmental risks.
• Ability to work effectively in a mine-site environment.
• Basic computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
