A leading mining operation in Zimbabwe is seeking an experienced Mining Plant Engineer to oversee mechanical maintenance and asset performance within the processing plant, driving reliability, plant availability, and production efficiency.

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

• v Plan and manage mechanical maintenance activities to ensure maximum plant availability, reliability, and production performance.
• Monitor the condition and performance of process plant equipment including crushers, mills, pumps, conveyors, agitators, compressors, and piping systems.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programmes to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life.
• Lead root cause failure analysis investigations and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring equipment failures.
• Supervise mechanical contractors, artisans, and technicians to ensure quality workmanship, productivity, and compliance with engineering standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and engineering regulations in all maintenance and project activities.
• Prepare and control maintenance budgets, spares inventories, and procurement plans to achieve cost-effective plant operation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and operational performance.
• Manage mechanical projects and plant modifications from design review through installation, commissioning, and handover.
• Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation, including drawings, maintenance histories, manuals, and equipment reports.
• Provide technical coaching and training to maintenance personnel to build mechanical competence and support succession development.
• Collaborate with Operations, Metallurgy, Electrical and Instrumentation teams to optimize plant performance and achieve production targets.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Registered member of a professional association.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mining or heavy manufacturing.
• Experience with maintenance planning systems.
• Strong leadership, maintenance planning, and problem-solving skills
